Chicken Egg Rolls

This is a new item for Trader Joe's. It just debuted about a week and a half ago. It's wonderful. The egg rolls come 4 to a pack. They are an awesome mix of savory chicken and cabbage (I think although I could be wrong) wrapped in crispy roll. These rolls cook up in about 10-12 minutes in a 400 degree oven. They would be great with the sweet and sour sauce that TJ's used to carry but discontinued....so I ended up trying them with the Hot and Sweet Mustard. Excellent! I will definitely get these again.

I was impressed with the quality of the chicken egg rolls--when we made them one night as a snack, my husband and I thought they were just as good as getting ones from a restaurant. They are really easy to make and they are highly satisfying. We like to get them along with the TJ's fried rice for a meal.

These are very enjoyable. Better quality than the typical offerings in frozen sections of the big box retailers.

My only complaint is the huge water chestnuts and their crunchy texture.

These are so amazing. When I took them out of the oven (I cooked them on a tray with foil) they didn't look too great, and I thought it was going to be a bust. The "wrap" stuck to the foil and ripped off....they were SOO SOO SOO YUMMY!!!

Chicken, cabbage, and I think some carrots? They were nice and peppery too. I love these, and I'm going to stock up on them!

One of these and some of their fried rice and it's a great lunch or quick supper.

My family really liked how these tasted-very nice chicken flavor, and the cabbage was not overwhelming. With the egg rolls that I buy at my local grocery store, you normally need to deep fry them in oil to get them to be crispy- don't do that with these or they will be to greasy. Baking them in the oven is the best way to go.

Next time I will probably broil them a little at the end for extra crunch, but overall these were really good. I love egg rolls but frozen varieties usually make me want to puke so I was surprised when I liked these. I will definately get them again.

The Sweet and Sour Sauce is back -- and tastes great with these egg rolls! Usually I make two along with the Mandarin Orange Chicken and the veggie fried rice, for a yummy dinner for 2. Not as great as the stellar Chinese restaurant we usually order from, but WAY better than the crappier restaurants we've tried -- and better than Manchu Wok :)
