The fries come out crispy, with no greasiness or sogginess. The barbeque sauce is slightly chunky, with noticeable sweetness, mustard flavors, and heat (provided by jalapeņo peppers). It's not so much heat as to cause a problem for most people, but for anyone who really can't eat spicy food, the sauce could easily be served on the side. I thought it was a good heat level: present, but not overpowering.
These would go well with just about any traditional cookout meal: burgers, steaks, chicken, etc. Obviously, fries smothered in barbeque sauce are going to be messy, so these are definitely more down-home than upscale.

yummy with sauce on side

I like the fries, but sometimes when you buy these or the other variety they are too soggy when you toss them in the sauces. Instead, I like to do half a batch tossed, and the other half with the sauce on the side.

My wife and I tried these because I saw them on this site and figured they would be good and they were. A little on the soggy side, but that is okay. Spiced just right!

On the side!

The sauce is definitely better on the side. The fries come out really crispy, and easy to dunk in the sauce.

I don't exactly understand how they came up with the picture on the pacage. When we made them as the instructions outline, they ended up soggy. The flavors were great though - wonder if there's something that could be done to crispy them up once flavored...hmmm. :)

Another vote for on the side

As others have said, serve the sauce on the side! These fries are wonderfully crispy; the sauce is flavorful and packs a spicy punch. Not the healthiest, but a treat!

I LOVE these fries, but ALSO prefer the sauce on the side and blended with mayonnaise. Same blend is good on burgers :o)

I'd recommend keeping the sauce on the side for dipping.

crispier version

if you bake it for an extra 10-15 minutes and brown the fries in the oven, they taste great with the sauce and do not get soggy, unless you wait to eat them. You have to eat right away or only put the sauce on some of the fries.

These are my fiance's favorite french fries. Be sure to have some forks and napkins, if you toss the fries with the sauce as the package instructs it's really messy to eat. Totally worth it, though. Spicy and flavorful, perfect with grilled hamburgers or chicken.

these are hot! spicy hot. i liked them but, really, they are very hot. my husb & i love hot spicy food, but even he said, "my brow is sweating, these are so hot!" so we only ate a few...very few. sauce on the side is a better idea. maybe mix with a bit of mayo to cool it down some.

Amazing fries

I tried these after Real Simple said they were the best frozen fries out there. They were right! These are not the frozen fries I grew up with that were soggy and mushy. These get crispy and are perfectly seasoned. I never use the sauce, I just throw it away.
The sort of annoying thing is that the instructions say you have to use the whole bag at once. That's a lot of fries for me...

I hated these!

I found these fries to be really salty and really gross. I took the advice of other posters and left the sauce to the side. Gross! I found nothing about this to be redeeming. I hated the sauce and couldn't even eat the fries on their own with a different sauce. Blech!
