Fettuccine AlfredoPopular
This Trader Giotto's frozen pasta is a staple at our house. It comes in 16 oz bags of little nests of fettucine and frozen sauce disks that I call "magic flavor pellets."

Your first thought is that Alfredo is heart attack on a plate. Well, it is cream, cheese and butter, after all. Each serving (3 per bag) according to the packaging does has 370 calories, 25g of fat (8g saturated) and 95mg of cholesterol. Typical Alfredo sauce. The beauty of this Fettuccine Alfredo, however, is that you are in complete control of how heavy or light to make the sauce. You can use all or some of the flavor pellets to significantly cut down on the fat and calories and keep the nice Alfredo flavor. In fact, I microwave a few nests at a time with about 1 pellet per pasta nest and it's delicious. When the pasta is gone, I am sometimes left with a dozen or more sauce pellets.

Like I mentioned, this pasta tastes great zapped in the microwave and you are in complete control of the portions. One little pasta nest and flavor pellet also make a quick and yummy side for kids' meals.

Try adding a bit of tomato sauce in place of the water, for a Fettucine with Blush Sauce. It's great.

A Nice Base

This is a great side dish but I like to turn it into a whole meal. I add Grilled Mushrooms, Shrimp, Broccoli, Asparagus, Peas, Diced Ham or even Smoked Salmon. Any Combo of these things is Heavenly! Try it you'll like it!

What a great idea to cut the calories down...never thought to not use all the alfredo peelets! Brilliant!

Great Product - just too much sauce

I agree about the little pellets - I only use a few and save the rest in a bag in the freezer. Great for the kids to add to pastina or elbows for a quick snack.

Where is it?

Lately for the past month or two I have been unable to find this item, and I love it! All that I can find is the mushroom Fettuccine, which is, in my opinion not as good. Have they discontinued this product?

This really brought back childhood memories of my mother. No, they weren't memories of my mother's lovingly prepared, delicious family recipe for fettucine alfredo. They were memories of my mother screaming at me in a restaurant for trying to order this dish. "YOU"RE GONNA HAVE A HEART ATTACK!" How humilitaing.

Now that I am m older I can enjoy this incredible dish without the nagging. TJ's version is amazing because it is convenient, easy to prepare, and really outstanding. The pasta is a bit al dnete, and I found the sauce to be perfect in

i served this with salmon fillet and brocolli as side dishes. i did add a bit of pepper and freshly grated parmesion to the alfredo. it got rave reviews!

great easy meal
Reviewed by Netaris, 2006-09-08

We like it with steak or baked chicken. All the seasonings are in the afredo sauce itself, so the only thing we add is maybe some creole seasoning and pepper. Yum!

We chanced upon this as they were giving out samples at our local TJ's and HOLY COW! i couldn't make it better at home. Just threw some frozen peas in it at the end of zapping and it was a simple and delicious quick meal. The entire family loved it. Frozen broccoli would be good in it also.

I found this an excellent base for adding chicken and broccoli. Then it becomes a real meal! Very tasty, plenty of alfredo for the additions. A salad and garlic bread and you're there!

staple for lunch
Reviewed by alohaaimee, 2008-03-17

This is a weekly staple for my work lunch. I usually add some cooked frozen shrimp (or sliced cooked chicken breast -- not frozen), and let it thaw in the fridge till lunchtime. And the fact that it's individually quick frozen does make for great portion control!
