Fire-Roasted Corn(88 votes)Rate this listing This corn is very interesting.... it says "fire roasted" and "super sweet" on the label. Some of the kernels are indeed burnt and this corn is very sweet. We had it as a side with some rice and it did not taste exactly right, so I am guessing it would make a better ingredient in recipes like chilli. Submitted on 02/ 8/2006 by jovanna

Try steaming roasted corn in the microwave with a generous portion of chopped fresh basil. Add a bit of butter to the hot corn and ascend into summer heaven.

I like to mix this corn with a little hot taco sauce. It's one of my favorite veggie side dishes.
Excellent as a topping on tacos. If I am eating it alone as a veggie side dish, I dilute 50/50 with regular sweet corn.

You can definitely smell the "fire roasted" aroma. The corn is delicious as is, it's a little pricier than expected so make sure the check the price before you grab a couple of bags :)

we first cooked it when we had family over, and we were all blown away with how it tasted just like being on the grill. it was the first time our daughter ate corn at will! we enjoy getting it when we don't feel like grilling out. it's awesome.

I like corn, I like edamame, but I don't like TJ's "Soycatash" becauase it has nasty red bell pepper pieces in it.
I take this fire roasted corn, and mix it with TJ's shelled edamame, in equal portions. Melt a little butter, toss on the cooked veggies, and sprinkle with a touch of chili powder. This "South of the Border Soycatash" is quite good, and far superior to the bagged version TJ sells. Try this Fire Roasted Corn in soups, chowders, and heated with your tacos, as another topping, and mixed with ground turkey for a Great Turkey Corn Burger. bypmchaney, January 23, 2007
add a little mayo, salt and chili powder.

We LOVE this corn, great heated in microwave straight out of the bag, or combined with butter and other veggies and dashes of hot sauce. We add it to corn bread mix when making cornbread for a special treat. We always keep 2 bags in the freezer. YUM!!!

We always used to eat sweet white corn, but this is our new favorite because it's so flavorful.
I also like to mix it with black beans and tomatillo salsa and heat it in the microwave for lunch. bygarden4cook, October 18, 2007
I use this product all the time - in soups, stews, casseroles, as well as TJ's corn soup. I love the flavor it lends - a more authentic flavor

I'm not too crazy about it by itself, but this is the best corn to use for chili or black bean soup. It adds a nice smokey flavor to both.

and watch what happens. My kids (4 and 7-years-old)gobbled this up by the spoonfuls. We use it as a side dish and my family loves it...but it has to have a pat of butter, a little dash of salt and a squeeze of lime. Try it this way and you will be hooked!
Owner's reply My 4 year old loved it too -- what a surprise! byLibbyLou222, April 1, 2008
i love this stuff, i even had it for lunch today! It tates good as a side dish or even added to a salad. The fire roasted flavor is really delish but the only down point is that when you nook it in the microwave it can get a littttle soggy. otherwise really great!

This corn has the same taste as a burnt log. It runied a family dinner because of the smell of total smoke. I tried to get my granddaughter to try some and she almost got smoke inhalation poison. I have to air out my house. I will never buy it again, and in fact I'm going to return it tomorrow so they can smell it.

This is wonderful! I served it tonight and my husband looked at it and said "what's up with the corn?!" Then he tried it. Loved it. Me too! Now I know why there was only one bag left in the freezer at the store. Anxious to try it in recipes.

I use this corn in a spicy chicken corn chowder and it was out of this world! I haven't tried it as a side yet, but can definitely vouch for it in a soup. It's SOOO good!

I mix it with a can of black beans(rinsed), a half each green, yellow and red peppers, a handful of chopped cilantro, a dash of chilli powder, the zest and juice of lime or lemon (what ever you have.) and a seeded chopped roma or grape tomatoes. Mix and enjoy. Very tasty and low fat.

Saute this corn with some Trader Joes Hatch green chiles and some sliced green onions in a little olive oil.
It's an excellent side dish. Results 1 - 20 of 20
