Meatless Corn Dogs

Meatless Corn Dogs
I learned that nitrites in meat hotdogs are linked to an increase occurrence of Leukemia in children. So I was excited to discover these vegetarian meatless Corn Dogs at Trader Joe’s. My kids LOVE these and they do not even know they are meatless.

Each Trader Joe’s Corn Dog has 4-grams of protein (WOW). TJ’s Corn Dogs contain 65% LESS FAT (3.5 grams) and only 160 calories compared to my old nitrite meat corndog brand (10 grams of fat and 410 calories). A fun food that is good for you as well. Amazing!!

There is another brand, Morningstar Farms that makes meatless corndogs. However, Trader Joe’s are just as good/better (same company making it for them???) and $2 to $3 less per box (depending on what grocery store you shop). That is a HUGE savings. I prefer to cook them in the oven versus the microwave. But many times my kids cannot wait and heat in the microwave without my help. Either way, everyone wins…

Trader Joe’s Meatless Corn Dogs are sold in a 10 ounce box with four Meatless Corn Dogs – in the freezer section. Just heat and serve.

Didnt think I would like these because they are meatless, but they taste pretty good. Not quite as good as my old fave Foster Farms, but acceptable.

I gave the rest to my dog. The vege meat on the inside could be a lot better. Seems to just fall apart to mush in your mouth. Yuck!

These are really good! These are an awesome alternative to meat corndogs. Of course they are going to taste a little different but I could hardly taste the difference. Also, my boyfriend who is a meat lover ate one & could not tell the difference!
We have fallen in love with Trader Joe's vegetarian corndog! These wonderful corndogs on a stick are taking the place of Mac 'N Cheese! Yea! (Sorry Kraft) My kids won't stop asking for them.

A great alternative to the real thing when you have a junk food fix. Less fat grams than the meat version and a great comfort food for vegetarians and omnivores alike.

Cheaper than the major brand of Veggie corn dogs.

$2.50 for 4 sticks of these yucky stuff? @ $1.25 yes, i'd eat them all day long. but @ $2.50 it's way over priced.
I like these but wish they had less sodium.
