Bavarian Style HefeweizenPopular
6 pack of Trader Joe's Bavarian Hefeweizen unfiltered wheat beer. Very tasty! blue-style label. I heard that TJ's was having Karl Strauss bottle beer for them, and just slapping the Trader Joes label on it. I don't know about that rumor, but this Hefeweizen tastes amazing!

Better than BlueMoon! Add a slice of orange for flavor!

Contract-brewed by Gordon-Biersch

The brewery that is making the TJ's private-label brews such as the Bavarian Hefeweizen, Vienna Lager, Bohemian Lager, and Hofbrau Bock is Gordon-Biersch. For those unfamiliar with that name, it is a brewpub chain out on the west coast.

Blue Moon is not the same style of beer as the Bavarian Hefe. Blue Moon is a Belgian-style white ale (brewed by Coors), whereas the Bavarian Hefe is an American wheat ale masquerading as a German-style hefeweizen.

just love it!

Hef

If you are the type that usually has a lemon wedge with their Hef you should try an orange wedge instead with the TJ's brand. It's a pretty good match. Cheers!

Truly Bavarian style

I love that this tastes more like Paulaner or Franziskäner than the typical American wheat beer: nice aftertaste of banana and clove. Don't dare squeeze a lemon in this stuff, it's the REAL DEAL.
