Punjab Spinach Sauce
Trader Joe's has some great simmer sauces, and this is one of my favorites. I simmer one bottle with two cans of red kidney beans and serve it over jasmine rice. If you eat meat, it would also pair well with chicken. It makes a wonderful quick meal.

We pressed some Firm tofu over night and then marinated it in the simmer sauce for about 8 hours. Simmered it up with some broccoli. Holy crap, this stuff is good.

I simmered it with chicken, nothing else. It's great stuff.
I used this poured over spaghetti squash like a pasta sauce. All it needed was a bit of garlic salt and hot pepper to kick it up.

One of my favs, too. I simmer leftover chicken chunks, half a bag of fresh spinach & a jar of Punjab Spinich Sauce ... & serve over rice. Yum.

We had this with cubed chicken breasts and I added in some extra spinach (as suggested above) for a complete meal. Yummy. Just serve over rice with some garlic naan.

I followed the directions and added some chicken to the sauce along with a cup of water and the taste was good but way too liquidy! I would not use water.

I also added a chopped onion and one cubed parboiled potato the mix.
I love using the simmer sauces in my slow cooker. I just put 1-2 lbs of chicken in my slow cooker and simmer for hours and it comes out great every time. I like this one but the korma and masala sauces are my favorite. All are great to simmer chick peas and different veggies as well.

This is delicious simmered with chickpeas for a healthy, inexpensive meal. Thanks for the reminder, since I had forgotten all about these simmer sauces.

I love to take two jars of this mixed with some frozen pees and some cubed Paner cheese (tjs used to sell it but you can find it at any indian grocery) plus some diced chicken.. I let it simmer and the poor it over some basmanti rice.. Its my boyfriends favorite meal.
I loved this sauce. Trader Joe has discontinued carrying this as of Nov 2009. Please contact them to complain and request to bring it back!!!!

We loved it, too, and hate that they've discontinued it. Has anyone tried to figure out the recipe to make it on your own?
Absolutely LOVE this sauce - favorite, quick and easy think to pour into crock pot, add chicken or whatever meat available and return to a wonderful meal!!! My spouse hates leftovers but would eat this until it was gone (amazing!). Please bring it back :)
