I never noticed it before but TJ's carries and enchilada sauce in a very similar looking bottle. Could they have just changed the label to enchilada sauce from Mexican Red Sauce? Maybe with a minor tweak of the recipe....I would also like to know people's thoughts on the enchilada sauce and how good it may or may not be.

This is exactly the same recipe I use as well and just love it. Can't confirm its effect on insomniacs but I can confirm I sleep better when I have a dinner of this pasta. I also drop some steamed broccoli in to add flavor and veggies for nutritional purposes. The only thing I do different is I use a garlic press on the garlic to get all I can out of just a couple cloves. Just be careful as it will go from raw to burned in no time so watch it when you drop the garlic in.

But not great....as in like a good chinese restaurant. But it is good and I keep it on hand pretty regularly. Great for quick stir fry's and such. Good dipping sauce for chicken, egg rolls, won tons etc. Try it and I think you'll enjoy it very much.

I agree that this sauce is excellent. My uncle used to bring in some homemade stuff from a friend of his who made very large batches of his own recipe and sold it to his friends and family. Kraft Foods bought the recipe from him and he was no longer allowed to bottle it for sale, even to friends and family. But this Trader Joe's KC style sauce is the closest thing I have tasted to that magical stuff my uncle used to get. Fantastic on everything but exceptional on Chicken and ribs. It was readily available at my new store in Morgan Hill. Fire up the Grill!!!

This is a winner. The outside gets nice and crispy crunchy, and the chicken is quite tasty on the inside and not dried out. The sauce is also very good and will start to add some red pepper flakes to add some heat as suggested above. But this is a home run for TJ's.
