If you're looking for a quick lunch, this is a good option. The package includes directions for cooking in the microwave or cooking with boiling water. I chose the microwave option, but found that the noodles were nowhere near cooked at the end of the cooking time. I ended up pouring the bowl into a pot and cooking it on the stove until the noodles were done (about another 4 minutes).
The finished product ends up being sweet and salty and garlicky, but definitely not as overwhelmingly salty as a typical ramen noodle soup. There was actual flavor to this, whereas every ramen noodle soup I've had has just tasted like salt.
The full bowl has 260 calories, 4 grams of fat, and 1340 milligrams of sodium -- that's 56% of the RDA right there -- so it's still plenty salt-laden. At $0.99 per bowl, this is a great bargain, and a nice step up from other dried soup mixes.
