Just had it. Definitely a quality product, as Jovanna implied. My guess is it's also fairly authentic...though I am not Indian, I once had a similar South Indian dish prepared by a native, and TJ's Sambhar Lentil Stew was on par.
The tips cited (e.g. naan, lemon juice, rice) are all worth considering. I do wonder if Netaris is referring to another product...there is no cinammon in the TJ Sambhar Lentil Stew, and it did have the predictable lentil spice flavor, in my humble opinion. byJBinOC, October 9, 2006
If you've sworn you'll never eat those nasty big brand frozen breaded fish fillets, don't dismiss TJ's Panko Breaded Tilapia Fillets. Excellent panko crunch, and more importantly, quality fish (which does have a mild flavor, Nancoix) lies within. As Bunnyluv24 said, the corn and chile salsa is an excellent accompaniment. The TJ Panko Breaded Tilapia Fillets would also be great, chopped up, as an ingredient in a fish taco.

Wanted to mention that I found the Southwestern Turkey Burgers again a few days ago at the store on Bristol Street in Santa Ana, Ca. I thought they were gone forever. I've since eaten one of the two boxes I bought, and they're exactly the same, i.e. really great.
I'm surprised to read Hells' comment about the burgers being dry. If anything, I find them too moist! I broil them in a toaster oven, flipping each pattie once. They don't need to be in the oven too long to be ready, I've learned. Could you be overcooking them, Hell? byJBinOC, July 20, 2006 |
