Just wanted to add that I highly recommend the use of good quality anchovies, such as the Trader Joe's brand, in this. The best anchovies are from Italy or Spain, and they should be in olive oil.
You can find cheaper ones in supermarkets but they are almost always from Morocco and are in a combination of oils. These ones are not nearly as good as the TJs brand and you will notice the difference. Please let me know if you try this -- even if you are "iffy" about anchovies, you will be very surprised at how good this is. bylunarmagpie, July 4, 2008
Finally tried these this morning. Holy-moley, it was practically a religious experience! So flaky and light, with such tasty chocolate inside. They were every bit as good as those I've had from a bakery. And they couldn't be easier to make!
Just one warning, don't make any more than you intend to eat, because if you have more than one sitting in front of you, you WILL eat more than you planned to eat. They are that good! Genius. I hope they last! bylunarmagpie, July 4, 2008 bylunarmagpie, June 29, 2008 |
