Apple Cheddar Crisp with CheddarCook Time: 45 minutesFilling Ingredients: 4 cups Granny Smith or any other tart apple, peeled,cored, and sliced 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup sugar 1 pkg Trader Joes Cheddar cheese w/oat granola, apples and raisins Topping Ingredients: 1 cup granulated sugar 1 stick (4 ounces) butter 3/4 cup all-purpose flour Preparation: Combine topping ingredients and mix with your fingers or a pastry blender until crumbly. Set aside. Mix sugar, salt, and cinnanon together and combine with sliced apples. Put half of the apple mixture in in a buttered 10-inch deep-dish pie dish or baking pan. Crumble half of the cheese over apples top with remaining apples. Crumble remaining cheese over apples. Sprinkle topping over the apples, patting gently. Bake at 350° until apples are tender and top is browned, about 35 to 45 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Apple Cheddar crisp serves 6.
