Canneles de Bordeaux(23 votes)Rate this listing "A cannele (kah-nuh-lay') is a specialty pastry of Bordeaux on the southwestern coast of France. Describing one almost requires tasting it: the outside of the shapely little cake is caramelized and chewy, .. but get inside and you encounter a velvety, custard-like interior with a pronounced vanilla flavor. The oh-so simple ingredients bellie a deliciously complex taste and texture." Simply defrost for about 20 minutes or heat in microwave for 20 secs. These things are way too good for human consumption! The sweet spot on the microwave is 11 seconds, although I'm not sure you could do anything to detract from decadent deliciousness of these little devils. I could eat one of these off a bathroom floor at McAfee Coliseum without a second thought.

These caught my eye last week and I couldn't leave them in the freezer case.
Now I can't help them from flying into my mouth. byRollo, August 12, 2008
These are much better when they are warmed up a bit.

I can't wait to try them. They were made by Nuns during the Middle Ages and sold during market days. They are difficult to come by because they are made in special copper molds and the dough must rest all night. Thank you Trade Joe!!!

I could not wait to buy these - they just sounded so yummy....I took one out to try and let get room temperature - it looked a little over cooked (burnt) but I thought that was what it was supposed to be. Tasted burnt. The top part that was not burt tasted good....Maybe I have to try again..????
renerene they are supposed to seem burnt like that. I love these, by the way, and 20 seconds as the package indicates is a little too short for my tastes, based on my 1.6 KW microwave. 20 seconds makes most of it room temperature with a cool spot or two and 22 seconds makes it a little warm all the way through.

I bought these for the holidays. Unfortunately, I didn't care for the chewy exterior. The guests laughed and said I accidently served candles.
Guess this one just isn't my thing. Results 1 - 7 of 7
