Green Plant Juice
Trader Joe's Green Plant Green Food Beverage is a 100% juice blend with "green foods" such as barley & wheat grasses, broccoli and spinach. Truthfully, I bought it out of sheer curiosity and the hope that I could stomach it enough to get some extra nutrients in my diet.

You have to be a brave soul to get past the thick, puke-green consistency, ugly label and downright repulsive name. But IF you do, you will be rewarded with a delightful blend of yummy fruit flavors from the peach, mango, and banana purees and apple and pineapple juices. The nutritious extras, which you hardly taste, include 620mg of spirulina, 420mg of chlorella, barley and wheat grasses, broccoli, spinach and royal jelly 3x.

Why it has to look like a sludgy cesspool, I don't know. Drink it blindfolded if you have to, but TRY IT and I promise, you will be pleasantly surprised and it may very well become a new favorite.

It looks daunting, but even though it looks like toxic sludge, it tastes amazing! "peach, mango, and banana purees and apple and pineapple juices. " is perfect and spot on. Jovanna wrote a great review. the texture is like a thin smoothie and really just tastes awesome. Try it out, you won't be dissapointed. 5 stars!

This scary poopie looking drink is awesome... I love drinking it at work..it stops people in their tracks. My grandson thinks it's a "monster" drink" and drinks it because it looks gross.
I love this stuff. I drink a little shot of it in the morning and when I get home i have another one. make sure it's REALLY cold when you drink it
Ever try Odwalla Superfood? ($9 a bottle!!) I contacted TJ's to get more info and here is the response:

The green plant is comparable to Odwalla. Eight oz of Our green plant
juice is equal to 5 servings of fruits and veggies!

& GREEN PLANT IS LESS THAN 1/2 the cost!
I have not tried this product for myself, but since I am a physician I was called by my a friend whose wife was immobilized on the floor with explosive diarrhea and vomiting simultaneously. She informed me that she had just had one glass of this unusual plant food prior to her reaction. The reaction lasted for about an hour or two and then went away leaving her weakened. No wonder it is used for weight loss. YUK!

No question a great value, tasty...but a tad sweet for my taste.

This is outstanding! I would have never tried it just by looking at it but there was a demo and I was pretty much coaxed into trying it. I drink it on ice all the time. The taste is impeccable and I don't drink any other juice.

I go through 2 bottles of this a week. Use it in smoothies and take a couple of swigs before bed each night. I too call it Pond Scum.

The greens in this juice are healthy, but because its pasteurized, much of the food value is lost, even if its "gently" pasteurized or "flash" pasteurized. Its done for two reasons, food safety and long shelf life without refrigeration.Really a sad waste of good juice if you think about it.Tastes good though.
Taste just like Naked Juice's Green Machine but a lot less!

Nice alternative to the 8$ per liter Odwalla superfood juice. Tasty too!
The first sip requires a little bit of bravery- it really does look like toxic sludge. I was really afraid it would just taste like wheatgrass as well. It's really fruity and pleasant! It doesn't taste half as good for you as it really is. They need a better name for this one so more people will be brave and try it.

As someone else said - close your eyes! Once you talk yourself into it, this is GREAT tasting juice. I'm guilty of not eating enough fruits and veggies and this is one way I can make up for that. GO POND SCUM!!
If you want the benefits of greens make your own fresh smoothies and juices. As someone else mentioned, the pasteurization this goes through takes away it's nutritional benefits.

I used to use this in my smoothies. I find it a tad too sweet just on its own with a texture similar to those pasteurized odwalla smoothies. I personally don't care that "slimy" texture because I am used to fresh made raw smoothies. The pasteurization process does take away nutrition, so I make my own green smoothies now with added kale, spinach and a raw greens powder. But its a good start for those who don't want to make a smoothie.
