I heard great things about this mix and it is really good. The mix is in fact blue and has whole kernels of corn in it. I also added chopped fresh jalapenos for my hubby (who likes it hot!) and he loved it. It was a little too hot for me. Next time, I will stir the jalapenos into HIS side of the mix to see if that was it or whether the mix itself is hot.

Too sweet and not very spicy

To me, these were more like cake. Much too sweet for me, and not nearly spicy at all. I mean, not even a little bit. I enjoy my cornbread a bit more savory, with the only sweetness coming from the sweetness of the corn itself. I felt like I was eating dessert with my dinner.

i just found out today that trader joes is no longer going to carry the blue cornbread. a friend of mine was going to pick some up for me at the st. louis store and the manager said they are no longer going to make it....i am so sad...
