Macarons a la ParisienneA common finding in French patisseries, macarons (mak-ah-ROHNS) are making their way into swanky American bake-shops as well, usually accompanied by very swanky prices. Our version, Trader Joe's 12 Macarons a la Parisienne, are pretty swanky themselves, but without the heft price tag. Not to be confused with macaroons, our Macarons feature smallish, round, cookies that are simultaneously chewy (inside) and crispy (outside). The cookies are sandwiched together with chocolate ganache (the chocolate version) or vanilla buttercream (the vanilla version) = you can't go wrong with either flavor. They'll make quite a splash on a dessert tray for a holiday part, but are just as easy and affordable, to serve after a weeknight supper at home. You will find each 4.6 ounce of 12 Macarons a la Parisienne in our freezers for $4.99.serving size: 2 macarons 90 calories per servings Submitted on 12/30/2009 by gnomatic Number of people who have "favored" this: 0 Read all 2 reviews below -OR-Add your own reviewReviews (2)

I really enjoyed the vanilla buttercream but the chocolate ganache is pretty terrible. Not inexpensive if you end up throwing the chocolate ones in the garbage
