Penne Arrabiata

★★★★½

This frozen bag of pasta delivers a restaurant quality Italian meal in 5-10 minutes. It's incredibly easy to prepare: just heat 2 tablespoons of oil in the skillet, add the contents of the bag, and stir occasionally.

If you want to get creative, you can add chopped tomatoes, onions or even some of Trader Joe's own frozen meatballs (defrosted in the microwave first, of course.) The penne cooks to perfection and the rich tomato sauce packs just the right amount of hot pepper to excite your taste buds.

Although the package says "3 servings," if you're a pasta lover like my husband and me, the whole bag is the perfect size for a filling meal.

this is a very basic penne pasta in a reasonably spicy tomato sauce. it's really good as a meal by itself--one bag makes one meal for a really hungry person or a smallish meal for two.
