Buttermilk Biscuits
Bought these for the first time today. The ingredients are pretty much what you would use in a homemade biscuit: wheat flour, buttermilk, butter, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. The frozen biscuits are square, so the shape after baking is not exactly round, but they are tender and buttery. The package states to bake them at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes, but I ended up baking them for a total of 15 minutes to get them nicely browned

As the original poster stated, these are as you would expect. Tender and buttery -- a bit too rich, and a bit heavy.

The instructions state you are bake them for 10 minutes from a frozen state, but mine required TWICE that amount of time, in a toaster oven, before the raw dough in the center was cooked and the top was browned.

On the package it states to bake them on a greased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes. Mine turned out gooey in the middle and burnt on the bottom. I even had two fall over and kind of melt into the pan. Next time I will try to cook them in an 8" cake pan so they can't fall over and maybe grease VERY lightly with some flour added. Maybe a lower temp for longer too. One of the few TJ's products we've had an issue with. Good Luck- these could end up good!

MMmmmm.... like Kentucky Fried Chicken's -- buttery, flaky, delicious. I love the fact that they are frozen and you can make them individually. The box says "Buttermilk Biscuits & Shortcake" so I guess you can use the batter as shortcake, but it was really dense and buttery so I would stick to biscuits.

These don't hold up to the standard set by other TJ's frozen baked goods, like the croissants. I baked them 18 minutes, but they were still wet inside, and they never left their original frozen block shape. They did not look like the ones on the box! Flavor was okay, but 2 of my 3 kids rejected them.
Our store had a sign that said the directions were incorrectly printed on the package. It should be 18-20 min at 375. I baked mine 22 min at 375 and they were great. The shape holds up better too at the lower temp -try it!
These were pretty good, and easy to make. I had no problem with getting them done enough-- the only thing I found odd was that they didn't rise or change shape by much so they did seem a little heavy. I didn't find them nearly as greasy, though, as I find other frozen biscuits (Pillsbury as well as others I've tried from the grocery store). The taste was pretty good, too-- it did remind me of homemade buttermilk biscuits. I'll deifnitely get these again, because although homemade are better, the taste difference is NOT worth the extra work for me! :-)

These simple don't hold up. I LOVE. LOVE. the frozen croissant dough, but these biscuits, even when I bake them at the "real" amount of time (18 minutes or so), stay heavy and dense, and never really break out of that block shape. I will not be a repeat buyer. If anyone has access to a Schwan's home delivery service, their frozen, unbaked biscuits are the best I've tasted, homemade included.

I love TJ's but this is terrible. My mom made them for Thanksgiving & the outside was getting burnt while the middle was still doughy. UGH!
