Think of this as a vegan version of Pho (vietnamese beef noodle soup). Infused with traditional spices like coriander, tumeric and cumin. Makes a light, convenient warming lunch. C'mon, it's time to try something new other than those MSG, artificially flavored, salt-laden "ramen" soups that you've had all your life.

If you're looking for a quick lunch, this is a good option. The package includes directions for cooking in the microwave or cooking with boiling water. I chose the microwave option, but found that the noodles were nowhere near cooked at the end of the cooking time. I ended up pouring the bowl into a pot and cooking it on the stove until the noodles were done (about another 4 minutes).
The finished product ends up being sweet and salty and garlicky, but definitely not as overwhelmingly salty as a typical ramen noodle soup. There was actual flavor to this, whereas every ramen noodle soup I've had has just tasted like salt.
The full bowl has 260 calories, 4 grams of fat, and 1340 milligrams of sodium -- that's 56% of the RDA right there -- so it's still plenty salt-laden. At $0.99 per bowl, this is a great bargain, and a nice step up from other dried soup mixes.

These are great to keep on hand at work, I usually have two or three in my desk for those days when lunch plans fall through or I have to eat something quick at my desk.

okay, this is pretty good because,
A. it's $.99
B. it's vegetarian friendly
C. it's filling and it's hot
D. there's not a whole lot o' "junk" in it
it's pretty tasty too. it's not for food snobs though. it's good food for when it's cold outside and you're feeling lazy.
TIP! microwave for 4+ minuets for it to un-crunchify the noodles. no way this cooks it 2.

Being Chinese-American, my parent frequently buy real Chinese brands of instant noodles from Chinatown. As a result, American instant noodles don't usually taste as good. These rice noodle bowls actually have the authentic asian taste and are a good substitute for the instant noodles I'm used to at home while I'm at college. The Mushroom flavor is also really good (it's not the fresh mushroom flavor you're thinking of, but Asian dried mushrooms (think shittake).

However, the noodles are too soft. They don't have any spring to them! I'd rather pay another forty cents to get the Thai Kitchen ones.
I wouldn't say this is inedible but it is not great. The noodles are too soft and small and the broth is rather bland. I guess it is because I have been growing up all my life eating pho and this is a vegan version of it but the taste could be better.

I'm a big fan of TJ's products, and I really like the Annie Chungs Miso and Udon soup bowls, but these rice noodle bowls are absolutely the worst thing I have ever tasted.
The noodles don't hydrate properly and either end up as hard sticks or a big mess of glop.
The soup base has a horrible flavor and smells like old onion powder mixed with sweaty gym sock.

Very soggy mess with little flavor. I am sorry for the hungry people to whom the rest of mine will be donated.
Tastes a little like cardboard. The noodles are small sticks and remind me of those lipton soups that come in the little packets.

It's a cheap quick lunch. I usually skip out on using all the water and the oil. I've been told that it's good if you add some tofu to it.

The soup is good but it only has a little over 100 calories. It definitely shouldn't be the only thing you eat for lunch.
it was alright. i also cooked the whole thing on the stove to make the noodles edible. after that, they were good. i wasn't so fond of the flavor, but thats just personal preference.
the whole bowl is 2 servings, its actually 260 calories.
