I got this recipe from my demo counter....
1- bag Chicken Breast Tenderloins
1- bottle of Cuban Mojito Sauce
1- can of Cuban Black Beans
2- cups of Brown California Rice
-add Cilantro, Honey and Garlic for extra flavor and top with sour cream.
Sautee Chicken Tenders with 1/2 teaspoon of Oregano, Cumin, and Garlic in Garlic Oil until cooked.
Next add Mojito Sauce, and stir until warm....
Heat beans in a skillett, add one teaspoon of Honey; 1/4 cup Cilantro and a sprinkle of Chili Peppers. Stir until warm....
Rice....
2 cups of Water to one cup of Brown Rice.
Bring water to a boil, add 1 Tablespoon of oil to water, turn down the heat to low; add rice, stir, and cover pot for 10 minutes.
I only had the list of ingredients at the top when I first made this and followed package instructions. Everything tasted delicious. On the next trip to my Trader Joes they had the recipe printed out and this is what I've given you.
Enjoy!!

1 agree 100% that it is delicious. Baraka, did you taste the demo the Simi Valley TJ?

I sure did get this recipe from the Simi Valley demo counter!! Added it right into my mix of wonderful recipes made at that Trader Joes. :-) I feel sorry for those that their stores don't cook and just heat up items from the store.

I made a very similar recipe:
TJ's grilled chicken strips (already cooked)
EVOO
1/2 bottle TJ's Cuban Mojito Simmer Sauce
2 bags of TJ's Organic Brown Rice (frozen ones)
Chedder Cheese Crumbles
Cilantro
Heat chicken in skillet with EVOO. Add 1/2 bottle of Cuban Mojito Simmer Sauce. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
Cook rice according to directions (3 mins. in microwave).
Add chicken mixture to a bed of rice. Top with cilantro and cheddar cheese crumbles.
This was excellent. But I am definitely looking forward to trying the original recipe.

Don't forget the fried plaintains :)

I just inveted a very similar recipe, but I used boneless chicken thighs. I find that they are more tender when simmered, and have a little more flavor of their own.

Just curoius... has anyone tried cooking the Mojito sauce with chicken in a slow cooker? I've had TREMENDOUS results cooking chicken this way using TJ's Mole, spinach punjab and Mexican pepita sauce.

it was remarkable!
this meal was so amazing!
unfortunately, tj's discontinued their cuban mojito sauce. i've heard rumors that they'll bring products back if their customers make it known that it's missed....
