Stuffed Poblano Peppers
These, as a newbie on TJ's shelves, have been mentioned in the forums a couple times, so I thought I'd finally sit down and write up a review on them.

The box notes in large letters "WITH CHIPOTLE SALSA". I had no idea these were vegetarian until after eating them. In very small print on the bottom is "Meatless and Gluten Free" as if that's not the point (ie. the Chipotle Salsa is more important).

Anyways, this is TJ's second stuffed pepper item as far as I'm aware, the other being the fresh turkey stuffed red peppers. These are poblanos, which are slightly hotter than the no-heat bell peppers.

These are really good--very thick and rich, no runny sauce to deal with, and despite the chipotle, I don't find them overly spicy and think most people could tolerate them. The "stuffing" is really a good clone of ground beef--could probably fool a lot of non-vegetarians.

If you eat both peppers, or servings, total kcals is 380, and it's quite filling.

I have yet to try these oven-baked, but the microwave directions are off, instructing heating on high for 5-5.5 min. I get better results by nuking at defrost for about 4 minutes, then heating on high for 4-5 min.

These babies are now a regular on my shopping list! Nice, bold flavor, microwaves well and you wouldn't know it was meatless. What more could you want? My toddler (who likes spicy food, go figure) asks for these at least once a week. They are spicy, so if you are not up on spicy, pass these up. But if you like spicy, flavorful food, this is for you.
We tried these tonite with the Spanish Rice mix & were very happy with this. The taste is excellant...not to hot for my taste but others might think it is a bit spicy. I recommend these.

I love the filling in these! Would make a wonderful Chile Relleno burrito.

Didn't miss the meat at all! Lil spice but nothing too scary so don't let that scare you :) Nice flavors. Definately will buy these again.

I second the microwave timings being way off. I think it was a total of about 8-9 minutes.

Too mushy and not enough spice for me. Disappointing.

they're alright...i got up and looked at the package TWO times because i could have sworn there was meat in them. I eat meat so it wasnt a big deal either way but it turns out there is no meat at all! they tasted pretty good..but they seemed kind of greasy and not too good for you..who knows though.

im a daily meat eater and could not believe this had no meat in it, i dont know if it was some sort of soy substitute or if it was just the sauce, but these things were AMAZING!! a deffinite staple at my house now

We love these peppers, but the cooking instructions for a conventional oven are way off. After cooking at the instructed time & temp, the peppers still need to go into the microwave to get them fully heated through. We have a newer oven, so that is not an issue.

Again, we love these, but cooking time may vary.

Love these. Very hearty and filling. I don't find these too spicy at all. The poblano is a very mild pepper. A nice cholesterol-free and lower fat alternataive to the regular beef stuffed peppers.

No veggies in this so I serve with roasted veggies and a salad with tortilla chips and a salsa dressing. Yum!
i commented once but thought ild share that my only beef and chicken eating boyfriend ate these not knowing they were meatless, he enjoyed these so much its required i buy an extra box just for himself
This WAS a fabulous product. Have been told by local store that product is no longer available. Too bad! Is that true for other store locations?
