Tropical Mangosteen Freeze Dried
Wow, another crazy unexpected TJ's product. Mangosteen is typically advertised as a "superfruit", i.e. particularly strong nutritional and antioxidant content (Not sure this claim is true, but it's tasty.)

The freeze-dried version has the same texture as freeze-dried ice cream (or f-d anything, I imagine), but is sweet and slightly crunchy. I could eat these all day and if I did, the entire bag has 170 calories and 1 gram of fat.

The pit is left in, as when freeze dried it becomes crunchy and essentially the same texture as the rest of the fruit.

I love these, and it's one of those products you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere (and if you did it'd be very expensive.)

As a fan of unusual food, and snacky treats, I loved these. I thought they were sort of like healthy Lucky Charms marshmallow bits!

even better is their freeze dried rambutan, but these are great as an alternative snack.

Mangosteen have a ton of antioxidants, but unfortunately these are all in the very dark and very bitter rind, not the white fruit that you eat. If you've ever cut open a fresh one and squeeze too hard while pulling the halves apart, the rind juices coat the fruit and it ruins them. So I think the health claims are bunk!

"Like lucky charms marshmallow bits". Ha! Yea, kinda. I like the ones that have the pit in them. The pit is like a little crunchy nut in the softer lucky charms part. But they don't all have the seed. Gotta eat the whole bag to see how many seed you get.

Another great unrefined snack.
