Cranberry Crisps Made From Irish Soda Bread(5 votes)Rate this listing These are super crispy, crunchy slices of irish soda bread embedded with cranberries. They are very thin and very crunchy - not only are they a great snack but an extra special crouton crumbled on top of salads. They are just a little bit sweet and lowfat: .5 grams a serving (70 calories) $2.99 for a 5 ounce package. Submitted on 11/29/2007 by jovanna

I just bought these Cranberry Crisps yesterday. I noticed that there was a sticker on the front of the box showing the weight (3 oz/85g). I peeled the sticker off, and underneath it showed the original weight as 5 oz. I weighed mine out of the box, but still in the flimsy plastic tray/wrap, and it was 5.1 oz. Thee nutrition label on the back of the box lists the serving size as 1 oz, and indicates there are 3 servings in the package.
I'm not sure why the weight sticker was placed on the box, when it clearly is 5 oz, not 3. If you eyeball your portions and eat 1/3 of the contents, trusting the nutrition label, you'll actually be eating 1 2/3 serving of these crisps. For most people that might not mean a thing but I am a Type 1 diabetic and count carbs to match my food with the right amount of insulin. Understimating by 10g of carb (15g total per 1 oz serving) could have a big impact on my blood sugar. I study all Trader Joe's items carefully. The nutrition labels are often so very wrong or misleading. Results 1 - 1 of 1
