Chocolate Cannelés de Bordeaux(10 votes)Rate this listing Some desserts require no explanation, but where’s the fun in that? Other desserts defy description and require immediate taste-testing to fully experience the decadent deliciousness they proffer. Now that sounds like fun to us. Also sounds like our new Chocolate Cannelés de Bordeaux. These frozen pastry prizes have a custardy, chocolate-y, chewy exterior that’s moist and satisfying without being overly sweet. The interior is like a rich, dark chocolate pudding. But don’t just take our word for it – this description-defying dessert (we tried, but to really do it justice...) is available in our freezer cases so you can hold a tasting panel of your own – if you want to share, that is. We’re selling each 10.8 ounce package of Chocolate Cannelés for $4.99. Submitted on 06/12/2009 by gnomatic

I did not care for the traditional flavor -- burnt vanilla -- when TJ's first introduced these. They were a tad tough and flavorless, and I do so like a burnt sugar taste.
I tried these today and I'm surprised and pleased. Although I'm not a chocolate fan, I found these far more flavorful than the traditional flavor. Deep and rich, custardy inside and firm outside, with an intense and pleasing chocolate flavor. They are firm enough on the outside to easily pack in a lunch box or bag, but soft and moist when torn apart with your fingers. Forks be damned. Best of all, when compared to a brownie, they are the better choice, calorie-wise. 1 Cannele is 130 calories, 4.5 grams of fat (2.5 grams of saturated fat), 20 g of carbs, and 3 g of protein. (Am I the only reviewer who wants to read the nutritional stats? I seldom see them posted!). bylsk_13, November 7, 2009
I found this when I was looking for a low-fat dessert. It is delicious considering the fat content. It is the perfect serving size. The old me would have thought they are too tiny and eaten the whole box all at once but the new me just eats one.
