Tuna in Curry Sauce - 2007/04/05 01:23 I just decided to microwave a package of Tuna in Green Curry Sauce. It comes in a foil package inside a thin box.
What I tasted was very good, except most of it exploded all over my microwave (1100 Watts).Has anyone else had this problem? Altho I could prepare it in boiling water,I'd rather use the m'wave...perhaps at lower power?

Re:Tuna in Curry Sauce - 2007/04/05 21:24 I love that stuff too.......I take it out of the foil before I microwave it and cover it with a paper towel. It heats in about 1 minutes depending on the strength of the microwave. I eat it this way all the time on Trader Joe's pre cooked brown rice! YUM

Re:Tuna in Curry Sauce - 2007/04/05 21:35 Does the box give directions on how to heat in the microwave? If not then that packaging is probably not safe for microwave use. I'd take it out of the packaging and put it into a microwave safe dish and heat it that way.

Re:Tuna in Curry Sauce - 2007/04/05 22:03 I have yet to try the tuna in green curry sauce, but frequently use the ones in red/yellow curry (from my private stash, since both are now discontinued). I generally put them atop rice in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Yes, they sputter - hence the cover. You're not trying to microwave in the foil container, are you?

Re:Tuna in Curry Sauce - 2007/04/05 22:37 to clarify..it is ina foil pouch but sold in a thin box as opposed to being canned or frozen)
I do take the tuna out of the package and cook as directed. I think covering with paper towel and cooking for half time may work. Thanks!
