I've been a Trader since the '70s when my drives to LA always had to swing through Pasadena; now they are all over San Diego. I have wept over many a discontinued item but Gerhard's Sausages may be the prize. In this case, however, it isn't TJ's fault. I've just discovered (thank you, Mr. Google) Gerhard was gobbled up by a bigger fish which, in turn, was eaten by an even bigger one. I'm not sure if they would be moved by "weeping, and wailing, and gnashing of teeth" but I intend to write corporate HQ and plead unabashedly. My favorite was the Smoked Chicken Apple which (in the words of another Web reviewer) was "indistinguishable from pork." Win-win.
