 Rumor: Easton, MD - 2007/07/02 23:55 I just heard a rumor via a real estate contact that TJ's will be putting a store in the new shopping center where a Target store is scheduled to open in March 2008.

Anyone else hear anything?

We, and others on the Eastern shore have to go to Annapolis for our fix now! A closer store would be great.

Most of the other Maryland TJ stores seem to have been put into existing retail space that is near but just a little off the beaten path (i.e. cheaper rent).

Does Trader Joe's use new construction for stores eleswhere?

 Re:Rumor: Easton, MD - 2007/07/03 00:28 TJ's does open stores in new shopping center, but I have not heard about the one in Easton, MD. There is a TJ in Easton, Ohio. There is a store set to open at Gateway Overlook in Columbia, MD in the Fall. How far is Easton from Columbia?

 Re:Rumor: Easton, MD - 2007/07/04 03:20 Easton is on the "Eastern Shore" i.e. on the Eastern side of the Chesapeake Bay on the DelMarVA penninsula.
It is about an hour and 20 minutes from the Columbia TJs.

When last I inquired about stores on the Estern shore, I was told that the problem is distribution. Apparently, they will not put a store further than a certain distance from a distribution center. If you were to look at a map of the stores, they are in clusters.
