Great Wines at TJ - 2007/12/27 20:49 I just love the French Market Sav Blanc as well as the Bears Lair Cab... Both are about 6.00 and are a terrific value. I am a wine snob and I just love them both for the price. Great for when you are serving a crowd and don't want to break into your secret stash of top shelf... :-)

Re:Great Wines at TJ - 2008/04/03 19:18 I am a TJ fanboy but I have yet to find great wine there so I am interested in this thread. I tried some Two Buck Chuck but it tasted like 2$ wine. I love great under $10 bottles, whites with great mineral, big reds especially spanish, and delicate french wines.

Re:Great Wines at TJ - 2009/05/11 12:04 You might want to check out the new Blue Fin Chardonnay. I don't know much about wine but it was surprisingly the most delicious chardonnay I've ever had, and for only $3.99! Purple Moon Shiraz was also pretty good, it was $5.99 I think.

Re:Great Wines at TJ - 2009/05/22 20:34 Definitely try the Pont du Rhone! It's not selling so good at my local TJ's and I'd like to promote it so they'll keep getting more. I was a little scared of the plastic bottle, but hey, for 5.99 (in SoCal anyway) I'll try any wine once. Don't let the bottle fool you. It's good, honest French table wine, the sort of thing you'd drink with pizza, burgers, red-sauce pasta, or conversation with friends. Nice black cherry with notes of cedar, cassia, and a hint of chocolate and oak. Air it out a little first.

And, they manage to get a whole liter in that regular-size bottle. So what's not to like?

Re:Great Wines at TJ - 2009/06/29 01:25 I like the Pont du Rhone also. Once we get pass the plastic bottle and screw cap (glass and cork shortage in Europe), it is a great wine. It's like a light Merlot. Pont du Rhone is not an investment wine, but a wine that we can enjoy without degradation within a year or two.
