Panini - 2008/06/24 22:45 I don't know if it's new or not, but it was definately the first I'd seen it. Chicken and Provolone panini, with pesto. It was in the freezer section.
Normally frozen or refrigerated sandwiches are really gross. And while I'd like this one to be a little crispier, it was still delicious. Even microwaved, it was a good sandwich. Can't wait to take the other sandwich home and try heatng it in the oven to get it nice and crisp.
The provolone and chicken in the sandwich were obviously of good quality, since they were both very flavorful and not rubbery in the slightest.
Great sandwich to pack in to work, I need to go stock up on them!

Re:Panini - 2008/06/29 21:09 I agree. These are really good. I had one for lunch yesterday. Cheaper than eating out and just the right size. I had the roast beef panini.

Re:Panini - 2008/08/06 04:38 The Paninis are new. There are two flavors and they are very different than the Stouffer's products you will find in the regular grocery stores. TJ's product is two full sandwiches with a top and bottom piece of bread.

The only problem with this product is that the heating instructions are poorly written in my opinion. No matter where you heat them, the bread does not crisp up. That's a shame, because that's how paninis are supposed to perform. Stouffer's bread is heated on top of a suseptor (silver disk) in the micorwave. Stouffer's bread is not good either, but it does get a little crisp. I have experimented with different ways of heating the Trader Joe's Panini's. Try wrapping them in paper towels and placing them in the microwave. Heat one sandwich at a time. Heat it for 30 seconds and then flip it over for another 30 seconds. Keep flipping it until the sandwich reaches to the desired temperature. Then enjoy with your favorite beverage!!!

Re:Panini - 2008/08/07 17:10 I've found that if I let the thaw over nite in the fridge, and then put them in my trusty toaster oven, they come out great.I do agree that the instructions on the box are a little sketchy. When ever I see some one buying them I always take the time to give them ny ideas. Film first,I bleed D-76.
