Pet Food - 2007/03/21 09:26 All canned dog and cat food, except for the tuna for cats have been pulled off Trader Joe's shelves. This has been done voluntarily, the food has NOT been recalled and has not caused illness to pets. Trader Joe's will refund any product you think you need to return and is only pulling product until lab results come back. Do not fear for the life of your pet, this is not a recall, and the Trader Joe's pet food is not on the list of recalled pet food.

Re:Pet Food - 2007/03/30 08:11 Yes BUT my personal experience with the dry food was no good. The first two bags were fine, the third however my cats got diarreah(sp?) and one was so bad she pretty much licked herself raw, tmi sorry.
We have since returned to Iams and science diet.

Re:Pet Food - 2007/03/30 20:05 A close friend tried the TJ's dog food for her dogs, which resulted in diarrhea as well. The vet took a look at the package and pointed out the relatively high soy content, which he said took some time for GI tracts to adjust to. Food for thought, before you think there's something wrong with the product.

Re:Pet Food - 2007/03/30 23:01 Good to know thanks for that information. Dumby I am being concerned about my familys intake of soy I never thought to look at the cats food.

Re:Pet Food - 2007/04/03 02:54 I've been buying the TJ's Natural Dog Bisquits for a few months now. I got concerned after TJ's removed the canned food and emailed them last Friday (3/31) and asked if wheat gluten was used in the bisquits. I received a reply that stated "The ingredient is wheat not wheat gluten." Since there have been dog treats involved in the recalls in the last couple of days, I called them tonight and was told that wheat gluten IS in the bisquits. I've got to say that my confidence in TJ's has been significantly lowered.

Re:Pet Food - 2007/05/01 06:17 TJ'S is very proactive and would not have an item on the shelf that is even questionable. They pulled all dog/cat products and privatly had them tested and they since have been cleared. it was all voluntary. I have been using there canned dog and cat food forever and have never had problems.
