Great Hi-Fiber Cereal Gone! - 2008/05/11 03:45 The best breakfast food value in terms of fiber,
calories, and flavor was the Hi-Fiber Vanilla Almond
twigs. It's gone! Instead, they stock the
plain boring Hi-Fiber or the Vanilla Almond Clusters, which pack a ton of calories. I can't even find the
manufacturer. No one seems to make this combination.

Sad and hungry,

Geanie

Re:Great Hi-Fiber Cereal Gone! - 2008/06/01 17:47 Hi Geanie,
Didn't try that cereal myself, but those flavors are classics. Try getting some All-Bran (the twigs), adding some sliced almonds, and pouring vanilla almond milk over. A combo like that might work. Almonds themselves though might be part of the calorie issue (most nuts are high fat and high cal) so if you're so inclined get some almond flavoring like you'd use in baking and add that to the vanilla almond milk.

Note: if you haven't tried almond milk you'll find that the nut flavoring is almost entirely removed from it. That makes it nice and smooth, and closer to soy or rice milk. It might be more receptive to additional almond flavoring than soy or rice milk; just a thought. I think I've seen it in TJs; if you can't find it I know TJs has soy and rice milk.
