 wine recommendations? - 2006/11/01 22:15 Today I purchased a bottle of Jacob's Creek cabernet sauvignon from TJ's and it is FANTASTIC, especially for $5.99. Does anyone else have recommendations for great, inexpensive wines (preferably under $10)? I'd like to make a list of new ones to try. Thanks!

 Re:wine recommendations? - 2006/11/02 16:25 There isn't a TJ's here in Colorado...so I wouldn't know if they carry it...but I like the label "YellowTail" an Australian wine company. I've only had the Merlot and Shiraz. The Merlot was very good and is a great compliment with Italian food!

Jim Neal's Chariot wines are an amazing value. At my local TJs, the Gypsy Sirah/Petite Sirah blend sells for 7.99, and the Sangiovese is a dollar or two more. Locally, they sell for 10-15 in other stores. On my last TJs visit, the guy stocking the wine shelves said that he'd bought 5 cases of the Gypsy for himself. It is that good. (And undoubtedly even better w/a TJs employee discount:-)

 Re:wine recommendations? - 2007/01/10 00:25 I like the Rosso Shiraz @ $5.99. It's better than some of the $7.99 bottles I've purchased at Trader Joe's, and I don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for tasty, inexpensive red wine.

 Re:wine recommendations? - 2007/01/16 05:39 I like La Boca's wines (from Mendoza, Argentina). Easily recognized label (like the buildings in La Boca in Buenos Aires) All bottles are $2.99. I've tried the Chardonnay, Malbec, and Cab. They also have a Merlot.
