Re:Rhode Island - 2006/06/07 19:48 I hear you, loud and clear! I travel from East Providence to Framingham (MA). While it's worth the drive, it just makes sense for Trader Joe's to open a location in RI. Everything is an hour away, and if you open a store in say Cranston, then it would still be within reach of even Southeastern MA and South County. Call me crazy, but this is a no brainer for Trader Joe's.

Re:Rhode Island - 2006/06/08 00:11 The weirdest part is that the TJ's warehouse is in Taunton, which is closer to Providence than to Boston. And trucks from Taunton must pass near Rhode Island on the way to New York, Philadelphia, etc.

Re:Rhode Island - 2006/06/12 21:31 I agree, I also live in Rhode Island and I just made a treck up to Framingham, MA (a good 40 min drive) to purchase TJ product. This would be a great investment for TJ's to open up a place in RI.

Re:Rhode Island - 2006/06/14 20:08 I couldn't agree more. I live in Bristol and have driven to Acton, Boston, Needham, Framingham and one other place I can't remember to get my TJ's fix. I moved here from California a little more than a year ago and have been surprised (and pleased) to find out how many other people are willing to drive so far for the great products at Joe's. But, because of the distance, visits are few and far between! I would do ALL my shopping at Joe's if I could!

The last time I shopped TJ's, the checker took down my ZIP code... I have to hope that the masses commuting to Mass will convince TJ's that Rhode Island needs its own store!

Providence would be great! Or Warwick! Or... I drive by an empty storefront in Warren everyday... wishing a Joe's would snatch up a cheap lease...

Re:Rhode Island - 2006/06/14 20:28 I hope they open a TJ's in RI...but I didn't know that the distribution center is Taunton....why don't they open in Seekonk? Then...it's equidistant for all of us in SE MASS and those of you in RI. I actually wrote to TJ's & they sent me a "canned" response saying our marketing and Real Estate developers are looking into it. Oh well....keep our fingers crossed!
