They used to sell this delicious licorice in 1 lb. tubs. It was made in Australia and was one of those products that was around sometimes and not around others. One day a few months ago, I was happy to see that it had reappeared after an absence, looking basically the same as before, and I bought some.
When I got it home and had a taste, the texture and flavor were completely different, not to mention WRONG, so I checked the ingredients. I noted that it had trans fat in it, which I was certain it didn't before, and additionally, the "Made in Australia" logo was covered up with "Made in the USA." Bastards, I thought. I considered returning it, but that seemed somehow petty, and anyway, it disappeared off the shelves altogether.
Now I've noticed that other stores that used to sell the Australian-made variety and turning over their stock to the American-made crap. Any idea what gives?
