 Oakland, CA - 2006/04/05 03:44 I live here in the Bay Area and there's efforts to try to get a Trader Joe's open up near the famous Grand Lake Theatre in Oakland, near Lake Merritt (an Albertson's just closed down). Let's hope it happens. The Emeryville store has just gotten too crowded even at what would be the low traffic times.

 Re:Oakland, CA - 2006/06/07 21:09 Anyone know an update of possible Trader Joe's in Oakland. I've heard rumors of both the old Albertson's near Lake Merritt (Lakeshore) or a store on a 51st/Pleasant Valley and Broadway. Any news??? I am so bummed that I moved out of North Beach a couple of months after they put that one in SF.

 Re:Oakland, CA - 2006/07/18 23:38 I study Capoeira at the Martial Arts Academy near the closed Albertson's...I would LOVE a new Trader Joe's in that building....right now I have to travel all the way to Alameda or to El Cerrito...I refuse to even deal with the parking experience in Emeryville..no way!!!!!!!!!!!
