Greensboro NC ! - 2006/06/01 16:08 We need TJ's BAD! Growth is crazy. Chain grocer's are trying to rule. TJ's would be very successful in the north west area-near Guilford College! Come on down!

EXCLUSIVE

Trader Joe's is coming to Charlotte

KATHLEEN PURVIS

kpurvis@charlotteobserver.com

Charlotte shoppers can stop asking for Trader Joe's, the
California-based gourmet food chain.

Trader Joe's announced Thursday that it has chosen a location for a
South Charlotte store, in the Piper Glen Shopping Center on Rea Road.

And that may be just the beginning. Company spokeswoman Allison
Mochizuki confirmed that the chain is looking at possible locations in
north Charlotte and mid-town, although she wouldn't give a time frame.
The first store will open in 2007.

Re:Greensboro NC ! - 2006/09/06 02:13 I agree, there needs to be a TJ's in the Greensboro area. There is not a good selection of healthly, unique foods in the grocery chains. The area is growing and would welcome a TJ's with open arms!

Re:Greensboro NC ! - 2008/04/17 06:08 I know no one has posted anything about Greensboro since '06. However, the Chapel Hill location opened since then and I'm hooked. However, I do live in the Greensboro/Triad area. Since gas is now approaching $3.50/gal. quickly, Greensboro should be considered! I know Burlington is a small market compared to Greensboro, but with Elon University booming, TJ's would be ideal there. I know Greensboro has UNCG, A&T, etc. But, that University Drive/Alamance Crossing area (Exit 140 off of I-85) is the place to be.
