 Brown Rice - 2008/07/01 18:44 Ok, this is really meant for the other TJs crew members out there. Do any of the stores you know of have the frozen brown rice? In NJ we simply cannot order it. I know the company line that the manufacturer is a small place that can't keep up with demand, but I had a custtomer tell me that her sister in MD has been getting it pretty regularly, and bringing it to her. I'm not to sure I believe her. Oh, and do any of you have any clue what TJs is doing about this? Film first,I bleed D-76.

 Re:Brown Rice - 2008/07/02 01:56 We can't get it on Long Island either. Last I heard, it was listed a future item, and not simply tos. If any store still has some I'd guess it's one with a really big freezer and they just stocked up the last time it was available. I think rice shortage + really small company = no frozen rice for a while :(

We last had it oh, 3-4 weeks ago, and before then it was a month prior, etc etc. Same holds true with Jasmin rice, although we seem to be able to get that a little more easily. I haven't noticed on the quick order quide if it is tos or not orderable, but either way our waiting list goes on and on! No word here as to its next availability.

What else do you guys have on the east that may also fit in that category ~ ie sometimes in, sometimes out but always popular?

I think it's the same story, new supplier in Thailand just can't seem to keep up with the demand. I understand,and suport not buying from China, but the customers need to realize the added problems getting a ner vendor that can keep up. Film first,I bleed D-76.

 Re:Brown Rice - 2008/07/04 18:06 Roasted red pepper/ eggplamt & garlic spread. Since its return after a several month hiatus it will be avialable for a few weeks then not again. This one sells great, get it fixed.

 Re:Brown Rice - 2008/07/04 20:40 Amazing as it seems, the brown rice actually showed up at my NJ store the other day. I was running one of our registers, and was completely shocked to see it. The customers were buying as many as they could jam into their freezers at home. So it will probably be gone as fast as before. I used some self control, and only bought two. Film first,I bleed D-76.
