Help! Need soy milk that tastes like TJ's! - 2006/06/14 22:34 Hi All! I depend heavily on TJ's products - rarely ever go to any other grocery store! I started drinking soy milk and just picked up the TJ's Fat Free Original Soy Milk (yellow carton) and really like it. I ran out once and picked some other brand at a grocery store, and it tasted really different - somehow tangy, which the TJ's Fat Free Original doesn't. I'm going home to Canada for a visit and need the closest substitute!! Anyone have any suggestions? I try to compare ingredients, but nothing seems to match - the fact that it says that mine has "organic brown rice" listed before soybeans, would that make it rice milk? It says it's Soy Milk, not rice milk! My TJ's has:
Filtered Water, Organic Brown rice, Organic Soymilk (water and soybeans), soy protein isolate, natural flavors, tricalcium phosphate, guar gum, xanthan gum, carrageenan, carob bean gum, sea salt, vitamin A, D2

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Re:Help! Need soy milk that tastes like TJ's! - 2006/06/20 01:52 I too love that soymilk and nothing is as good. However, from those commonly available, I find 8th Continent soymilk (which is made by a joint venture between DuPont and General Mills) to be a decent 2nd choice. My third place pick is for Silk.

I just bought some of the shelf-stable boxed Trader Joe's soymilk. I haven't tried it yet, and carrying it with you might be a pain, but it is a non-refridgerated option.

Have a good trip!
