Re:Southeastrn Florida... - 2006/10/20 23:19 I guess they're opening stores in North Carolina now. Probably will be stocked from the same place the Atlanta one will be. Any news on whether or not an Atlanta warehouse is in the works?

Re:Southeastrn Florida... - 2006/10/20 23:23 lax2mia,

A warehouse is definitely in the works. It just depends when it will open. The newly open store in Roswell is getting their products from Chicago warehouse. It is difficult to comprehend the logistics.

Re:Southeastrn Florida... - 2006/11/19 02:54 Yes! I just moved from San Diego to central Florida and I'm going thru major TJ's withdrawal...Cost Plus is nice, but there's nothing like TJ's. I sent in a request via the official web site. Never got a response. But here's hoping that things will reach Florida at some point...I see that NC and Atlanta are getting stores, so can conquering of the whole southeast be far behind??!!

Re:Southeastrn Florida... - 2006/11/28 17:31 I think we just have to keep pestering them. The South Florida post has by far the most activity. They have to notice that.

I was just in California and heard commercials like crazy about TJ's low prices compared to other chains. For C-rist's sake, they could charge almost anything if they opened in Florida! If they're having trouble in their own backyard then maybe concentrating on expanding might be the way to go.

Re:Southeastrn Florida... - 2006/11/29 16:02 Floridians, just relax you will get stores down there but it will take time (read years) TJ's grows slow unlike any other big stores out there and doesn't take out large multi million dollar loans just to open a new store. They pick locations carefully and have never closed a store due to bad sales. The reason they do the comparison pricing is that they don't do sales or advertising and that often gets overlooked by the 10 for 10 sale or weekly insert/mailer by your local grocer. What they really try to drive home is that every day you can can buy products that are much cheaper than other places and that when you add your whole bill up you really save money 10-20$ on on a 40-60$ dollar bill. Also there is a big preconcieved notion that TJs is a health/gourmet store which people think is expensive. All you shoppers will agree, Good stuff at low prices.
