Iowa City is home Iowa State University which is well known for it's Medical studies. So basically you have a very large population of doctors and other people in the medical field. This town is chock full of health nuts! New Pioneer has 2 stores www.newpi.com and Tait's Grocery. All three of these stores would rival any specialty grocer in any major metro area (even LA) their selections are outstanding and you can find the most obscure produce (even in it's organic counterparts). They are much like Fox and Obel that is located in the premier area downtown Chicago. The problem is their prices are even higher than Fox and Obel downtown Chicago. However they make the money because of the health nuts and gourmet nuts in town. If TJ's came to town they would make a killing!
